How To Use Our Search Facility
Use the 'keyword' for a quick and general search of both Artist and Title. You can also search by 'Record Title' or by 'Genre' by selecting the required music type from the drop down menu. This allows you to view the type of music that interests you the most, allowing you to browse through the titles we have in stock under that particular Genre. (I will also need to add info here when you have implemented the sub genre field) The 'Media Type' field is a drop down menu which may also assist in your search. For example you may not know the name of the item you are looking for, but you know that it is a 'vinyl box set'. Therefore by selecting 'vinyl box set' from the drop down menu and pressing 'Go', the search facility will then display all of the 'box sets' that we have or have had in stock.
Advanced Search
Enables you to be more precise when conducting your search, reducing the number of search results. You are also able to browse through the records we have in stock from any particular year. Simply select the year and leave the rest of the fields blank, and it will then list all of the records we have from that year.
You can also use the 'comments' search field to search for information on remixers of records, i.e David Morales, Todd Terry, Sasha, Masters At Work etc, or to search for records that have been played at clubs such as Shelley's, Renaissance, Hacienda etc or records that appeared on albums like Northern Exposure and Global Underground.
General Hints and Tips
We recommend that you use the broadest of search criteria. If you are unsure about the spelling of a certain artist or record title, just type in the first few letters in the required search field. For example 'mad' for 'Madonna' or 'oaken' 'Paul Oakenfold'. Also if you are looking for example DJ sasha, do not type in 'DJ sasha'. Instead we recommend you type just the word 'Sasha' and omit the word dj as this will limit your search to just dj sasha'.
We recommend you experiment with our search facility trying various possibilities as it is very flexible and can offer you numerous options when conducting searches.
